Huzzah!
On Sunday, my family and I went to the Renaissance Festival. The "Ren Fest" has been a family tradition since I was probably only about 5 years old, possibly younger. Ren Fest is a traveling fair set up in the style of the European renaissance, usually somewhere in the 1500's. They have many artisan booths selling anything from jewelry trinkets to medieval weaponry; live entertainment such as comedy skits, music, dancing, jousting and a host of other attractions. This year Mom even went to the trouble to sew a few renaissance style tunics and cloaks, and we all went at least semi dressed up. Harmony bought a renaissance dress to wear, Abby dressed up as a pirate, Josh wore a cloak, I wore one of the tunics, as did Dad, and Mom wore her "wench" outfit. Nathan, unfortunately was unable to go because of work.
We really had a lot of fun. My favorite part of Ren Fest this year was listening to Tartanic, which is a percussion and bagpipe group. It sounds weird, but they play some really rocking bagpipes, and the drums were awesome! The food is always really good there. I had "Steak on a Stake", hehe. It was nice to be able to go one more time before I leave.
