Migraine Troubles
On Sunday afternoon I started getting a headache. Nothing too unsual about that... just that they usually aren't simple headaches but proper migraines. For some reason I never just get a simple headache, it always turns into a full blown migraine.
So, knowing this, I thought I'd get a Panado (light painkiller), just to see me through church that evening, and then I'd have some Myprodols (heavy painkiller) when I got home, since Myprodols put me to sleep and I don't wanna fall asleep at my drums.
But, alas, in typical Raoul fashion, I forget to take the Panado. So I arrive at church with a headache and without Panado. Irene offered me some Myprodol (she usually has one or two in her handbag) but I decline for the same reason I never took them at home - I'd fall asleep halfway through the service.
So the night continued, and I felt worse and worse, the normal migraine symptoms showing themselves (the splitting headache, the nausea, the sensitivity to light, etc). During the sermon I put my head on the bench in front of me, which helped, until Luke moaned that I was sleeping.
After the service I kinda zipped outside, and went to sit in the car while I waited for the others. Francois came to the car and asked me if I wanted to call the others, which I initially said it's fine, but then changed my mind and asked him to do so. Luke came to the car first, and also offered to fetch people, which I gladly accepted, and when everyone had finally arrived, and after I had kindly requested that they keep their voices down, we got going.
Unfortunately we were halfwas down the M3 when my stomach decided it didn't like it's contents and started the procedure of getting rid of that. Fortunately for me, it started slowly, so I had a chance to take the next possible opportunity to park next to the road and find a suitable spot to allow my stomach to do it's thing.
Once that was done I felt a lot better, but still VERY sick. At Luke's suggestion, I went inside at their place, and Dr Warton kindly gave me some medication to take - anti-nausea tablets and Myprodol-level painkillers. I took one of the anti-nausea tablets immediately but left the painkiller for when I got home.
The way back to BI and then home was rather exciting. I was almost falling asleep at the wheel. But thanks to the grace of God, I managed to get Lisa and Francois back to BI safe and sound, and myself back home safe and... well, I wasn't sound to begin with...
When I got in I pretty much went straight to the sleeper-couch and collapsed there. Poor Hannah... we had hardly talked all weekend, and she was looking forward to spending a bit of time now. But I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I HAD to sleep.
One good night's rest later, and I was feeling fine and dandy on Monday morning.
